**Family Update**

Ora: is loving school and is excelling in her reading. It's amazing how brilliant she is. We would highly recommend "Learning Dynamics Preschool" to anyone who is looking at getting their kids into a great preschool...

Ellis: is starting to talk so much more and we can actually understand most of what he is saying now. He is such a handsome young man and when dad broke out his old lego's Ellis can't stop flying things around. He is even building his own "robots" which is great.

Patience: is definitely Steph's twin. Content when everything is going right. And can get super upset when its not. She is darling. And she has Steph's butt...pretty cute!

Holiday Season Update!

Here is just another quick update as to what we've been up to...and the best way for me to update you is through pictures...I really don't like reading super long paragraphs...I'd much rather look at pictures...it says so much more than a person can write...

Ellis and Ora watching "Up" pretty cute movie...they were really into it...

Patience has such cute smiles...she is so fun to have around!

We enjoyed Thanksgiving Day at The Rudd's...it was a great meal and slowly put everyone to sleep...upstairs was a little quite and I found Steph and Patience enjoying their nap...like Mother like Daughter!

We were running errands in Provo and Steph has never experienced In n Out...so we went through the multi block drive through and finally got our food and ended up at a Provo City park a lunch...I still think In n Out is a great out of state food...everytime you're out of Utah you can enjoy it...not sure how I'll like it now that its everywhere!

Ora loves acting as mom and taking care of Patience...we've even found Patience moved around the house...a little scary...but she is learning more and more how to handle her...

I hear this muffled "Dad, i'n stuck" I didn't know where he was till I looked over at Ora's kitchen :) Super funny...so before I could help him out I need to get a picture...

This was at the Tucker Family Christmas party - My mom's mom's side of the family...they did a great activity for the small kids...gingerbread house decorating they loved it!

At the Tucker Family Party instead of Santa coming and bringing presents we were all told to bring a present...so the kids actually went up and gave Santa gifts he would take to kids in need...it was a pretty cool experience...

My cousin posted this video and I thought it was a simple reminder of the Thanksgiving Season!

I've recently started w/ a personal coach who has been really teaching me and assisting me in all types of betterment...

One of my homework assignments was to write a list of things I was thankful for! Here are just a few...

I am so grateful for:

Each and everyday I get to live and grow with my adorable family. It's such a blessing to wake up each morning and to spend all day with them...I love my wife and all she has done for our family to keep us together and on the right path!! Thank you Steph...

a loving Heavenly Father who gave me the opportunities I've had, the trials I've been given and the power to overcome...

a business partner who has helped change our lifestyle from working 8-5 to more passive income then I ever imagined...

the great opportunity to live in the United States! And especially for all our brothers and sisters who willingly give up their life in defense of this great nation!

Actually, sitting down and writing these things out in my journal really helped open my eyes to all our blessings...I sometimes forget to count our blessings and when I don't I think He hasn't really helped out...but when we take a moment and step back I realize He's given me more than I'll ever be able to repay!

Life w/ a new addition

Well it's been a little over a week now since Patience has been home! It was a little interesting bring her home. Since Ora and Ellis weren't allowed in the Hospital b/c of the H1N1 scare going around...

So their first time to see her was when we came home!

Ora couldn't stop giggling. She is such a proud Big Sister. It was so fun to see how excited they were but at the same time not really knowing what to do with her!

When I put them next to her and said smile they both reached over and put their hands on Patiences' head. It was super cute!

Immediately Ora had to hold her and wanted to take her to her room to play...but we would only let her stay on the couch to hold her :)

My family was down one evening and we were trying to figure out who she looked like most Ora or Ellis? So we jumped on the computer and pulled up pictures of all 3 as newborns. Interesting how close yet how different they are. (Newborns left to right - Ora, Ellis and Patience)

Patience had to be on lights for about a week b/c some count was too high...but from what everyone said these were a new design and easier than others had to use on their kids...so we are grateful for the advances in technology...it was still really hard since we couldn't hold her too much! But we are making up for it now!

Ellis excited at the chance to feed Patience. Steph has found its so much easier to pump and then feed Patience w/ a bottle...I guess she was being used as a human Binky and she wanted to share the feeding opportunity with as many people as possible. :)

So far things are going great! Ora uses SilverSoft before and after school and even though sickness has gone through the school we haven't had anything in our house! SilverSoft has been an answer to prayers! And we are super excited to announce its currently being tested against the H1N1 virus. We'll have results back within the week!

Our Newest Family Addition!

About 2 weeks ago Steph went into her weekly visit and found out she was measuring 2 weeks early. So we were all hoping she would come early.

Week by week we waited to hear we could deliver early! And each time the doctor would remind us, even though Steph was measuring so big it would be up to Mother Nature if she would deliver early.

So began the walking, raspberry tea and other home remedies to induce labor naturally...

...Nothing seemed to work...

So finally the Dr. gave us the OK to head into the Hospital...only to be told Steph wasn't 39 weeks and to go home and come back at 11pm...(this was Thursday)

As we were about 1/2 to the hospital (a good 45 min drive) they called and said we couldn't come in they were full... so of course Steph was a little emotional... we grabbed a hotel and rested for the night.

We checked in at 8am Friday morning and they started the drip... things didn't start happening until 6pm when the Dr finally was able to break her water...

She finally delivered our beautiful Miracle at 8:46pm...after only 1.5 pushes!! So fast the Dr was startled and was saying "SLOW DOWN" :)

As she came out we were all trying to guess her weight...we all guess 12 ounces less than she actually was...

Here is a partial family photo...unfortunately b/c of the Swine Flu scare going around the Hospital has restricted visitors...and No Kids under 14 are allowed in! So as of right now Ora and Ellis have only seen their sister in pictures! Sad, but tomorrow when we go home they'll get to see her...they are so excited!

Oct Update!

It's amazing how time flies! Oct has come and its an exciting month!

Our kids keep getting cooler and more hip! :) Ellis and Ora love playing with each other and Ora keeps dressing up Ellis all the time. He's a great brother and really loves his sister!

Ellis helping us with the Halloween decorations. Also you'll notice he isn't wearing diapers anymore...

We were playing in the park one day and Ellis came over without his diaper on...so I decided to let him run around naked for a little while...well when we went inside I tried putting a diaper on him and he wouldn't let me...so I offered him a pair of Ora's underpants...and he was so excited to wear them...

Potty training wasn't suppose to happen until after the baby was here...but Ellis wanted it differently...he was a great learner! After 2 days he was done!

He hasn't had an accident for quite sometime and has learned to even stand up and pee...he hardly misses!!

He is growing up so fast and becoming quite the young man!

Ora is loving pre-school and brought home her first book this last week! I'm so excited my little girl is reading! I can't wait to start sharing Jim Rohn and Napolean Hill with her!

Now that she is reading and learning so fast...It's exciting to see how she carries herself. She is walking taller and really turning into a lovely lady! But don't tell her that she is still, "Princess Ora"...

Well, since we have the baby on her way...Ora and Ellis were sleeping in a full size bed which wouldn't have allowed room for the crib...so I built them bunk beds...they love them...

I was pretty excited about doing it since now they can have something I've actually put sometime and sweat into!

We are really growing out of our 3 bedroom place...we are currently saving again for a downpayment and have our sights on a house that is 4 bedrooms upstairs...so we are working hard to get in by Jan 2010!!

We'll keep you updated as soon as the little one arrives! Steph is measuring 3 weeks ahead of schedule...so it could be anytime or we could have a 9-10 lb baby on our hands!

Well alot has been going on!
School has started for Ora and she is really enjoying it.

Earlier this month we took a trip to Twin Falls. On our way through Layton Ellis was getting too tired of driving...so we tried anything to calm him down...finally Steph gave him a diaper and he quited right down...when we looked back this is what we saw...

The kids loved our Hotel...with Ellis loving the gym...b/c he could be just like Grandpa always working out!

And Ora learned how to swim all by herself and didn't want to get out at all...That would be fun if she turned into a little swimmer...it could be fun to coach her as she grew up...

Steph was taking pictures for her cousin's bridals...you can see them on Steph's Facebook acct if you'd like to...

This is their Farm w/ a really cool old stone house frame on it...Up in Idaho...really cool dairy farm...

While in Twin Falls we stopped by to see Shoshone Falls...really pretty...although we've heard this picture shows the falls really low...that would be fun to come back during the spring to see what they are like full...

Ellis and Davis enjoying time together...It's been an interesting couple of weeks...Amber recently left Tage...not sure the reasoning behind it...but we are really wanting Davis to grow up with his cousins...they are good friends...

This was just a quick shopping trip with Dad...they always enjoy playing in the toys section...I found this cool cowboy hat and tried it on Ellis...he is a stud in a cowboy hat...wow...watch out ladies her comes Ellis...

The Splash Park was recently put in and its been so much fun...Its a cement creek running through a grass park and the kids love it...its not deep at all but its refreshing the cold water on a hot fall day...there's Ora and Ellis posing on the rock...

Definitely something to think about putting in the backyard for the kids...and we could incorporate a pool with it for the adults...

So we are now off to Twin Falls again for the wedding pictures...

Plus, there are only 2 months left until the little one comes...Pretty fun...I still have some bunk beds to make for Ora and Ellis so we can make room for the crib...we are quickly running out of room...we are saving up for a down payment and have looked at a couple houses...we have our sights set on one in the neighborhood its just a matter of getting the down payment put together...then we'll have it...then we could actually breathe b/c of the space it would offer us...wish us luck!

Misc Updates to Father / Sons Campout!

It's been a little bit and well alot has happened! This Summer was a fun one and we've been able to play so much. Having the last month off was quite enjoyable and we were able to play with the kids quite a bit. I am so grateful to our Heavenly Father that He has aloud me the opportunity to be self employed and to take care of my family while working from home! It's been a lifesaver and marriage saver!

Plus, you get to see things like this...your son walking into the office dress by his older sister! Nice!

This summer we were headed to TX however, we got called off b/c of shots...so we scheduled an appointment and this is Ellis getting caught up on his shots...we've never been a fan of shots but we don't want to be the danger to someone else's baby...so after a couple more visits he'll be up-to-date on his shots and then TX here we come...

The kids aren't allowed to play or color until after Sacrament but right after the boys sit down they are ready to color and play a little...here is Ellis coloring during church...he is such a character!

When we make it up to my parents on Sunday's the prepared dinners are great, visiting grandma and grandpa is great but nothing compares to playing with cousins! Here's Ora, Ellis and Davis playing...its so much fun when there are cousins...how would that be growing up in a family without cousins or brother and sisters...no wonder there are so many kids screwed up out there...no moral support group!

Thanks to my parents who taught us well...Ora has begun her 2nd and final year of Pre-School...so we decided to give back to school blessings! It was such a great experience to be apart of and I'm so proud of Ora and the path she is on!

Then this past weekend Ellis and I enjoyed a little Father / Sons getaway!

We went up to the Tifie Ranch near Morgan, owned by ProvoCraft...it was a really cool ranch! 200 acres - 2 pavilions - 3 cabins (about 700 sq ft ea) - 1 main house/lodge 15,500 sq ft - a river running through it - 3 camp sites - 4 RV pads - an archery range - a paintball course - completely run by hydroelectricity, solar and wind power...amazing place!

After going to bed at midnight and Ellis giggling as he climbed into his sleeping bag we woke up to a chilly morning. Last years Father/Sons experience we awoke to snow...so at least it wasn't snow!

This is one of the Pavilion Kitchens. Yes, its nicer than most home kitchens! This is how the Father's camp / make breakfast!

Here is opposite the kitchen with the table and chairs setup for breakfast...while we ate we enjoyed a movie "Scout Camp" on the projector/screen you can see the surround sound system hanging from the ceiling.

Ellis and his best friend Carson playing next to some Solar Panels as his dad Joe gave me the tour of the property showing me the hydro, solar and wind features not to mention the projects his boss (ProvoCraft) is doing all over the world... Such an amazing guy! wow!

It's been a fun couple of weeks! Next we'll definitely get pictures of Ora up from her first day to Pre-School...

Does anyone know of a private school that will teach kids both in English and Spanish? If not and you're interested to start one I know of some investors willing to help get one started!

Blair has taken the next month off from work so Steph and I are back on the project for a month! I really like this one month off one month on deal! Its great!

Ora's shops w/ her own money!

Ora has been working hard...cleaning around the house and getting things done when she's asked. Plus, she's also been finding change just lying around the streets...

So one day she decided she's had enough and needed to go spend some money.

So we ended up at the local DI (thrift store)...

She found a great play set and when we saw the price we couldn't believe it so we talked Ora into buying it :)

So we had her count out the money! She did great and counted out $3!

She was so excited to have bought something on her own...and we thought it was a steal of a deal.

We took it home and immediately washed it off. Of course no one else could help b/c it was Ora's...but mom was able to get in and help towards the end to make sure every little crack was cleaned...

We took it inside and she spent the next 30 mins putting her dishes and fake food in the Dora Kitchen...she was very excited and has played with it everyday since...

Later that evening the Ice Cream truck came through the circle for the 1st time this summer and kids flocked to it...of course our kids ran over thinking he was just giving out free ice cream...so hero dad came over and bought them some ice cream!

It's been a great summer. Mild temperatures and I've been lucky enough to have the whole summer off. I've enjoyed being home and around the kids... And hopefully they've liked it as well...

Rudd's Family Trip to Bear Lake!

The Yates gave Ellis a Motorcycle game and he is completely addicted...what is with this obsession w/ motorcycles, 4 wheelers, cars etc...

After we got home Ellis was too warn out to do anything else but fall asleep right where he was standing...

Overall it was a great trip. Unfortunately, Saturday afternoon we received the call that Steph's grandma passed away. Vada Rudd. What a great lady. So we postponed our vacations until after the funeral.

It's always good to get together with family and have such great fun!

Steph's Birthday

Well for Steph's Birthday the Yates took us up to Marriott's Mountainsides Resort in Park City.

It was so beautiful that evening in Park City. We decided to go out for Dinner. Isn't she so beautiful?

This is Ora on all 4's making herself a step stool for Ellis...she is such a good sister. Ellis loves it too b/c he can go up and play in that playground like all the other kids...

Ora's Birthday - 4th of July

Ora's first talk in Primary - She did a great job. And taught us that just like brushing our teeth twice a day we should at least pray twice a day.

Ora's Birthday Date w/ Mom & Dad - Del Taco for Lunch and Night at the Museum 2... its alot of fun hanging out with our cute kids.

Every year on the 4th of July we setup camp in my parents backyard. It's been a fun family tradition and the kids love camping.

Ora gets a new look!

While Dad was at work and Mom was busy throwing up...Ora decided she didn't like her long hair anymore...

So she decided on a new look!

So Steph had to clean it up a little and Ora started to cry as it got shorter and shorter...and she wanted her long hair back...Unfortunately, it will take sometime to grow it back to where she had it.

When I first saw it I couldn't believe it...she looked so grown up...she's super cute either way...I'm still a fan of longer hair...

Mom's Trip to CA

This last week Mom needed some time out with her friends. So they all took off to California on Thursday...

So dad was left watching the Kids...it was a great experience and I had alot of fun...it's so enjoyable having the kids be your alarm clock...you wake up whenever they do...and thankfully our kids don't wakeup till 8am usually...

We had so many neighbors come over to play which was great...I was able to be in the office getting some work done while the kids played Wii with the neighbors...

For church Dad even had the chance to curl Ora's hair...I think I did a pretty good job...and everyone at church loved it too...

Then on Sunday when mom got home after naps...we all headed up American Fork Canyon to do a little fishing...it wasn't the best time to go since it had just rained but it was a fun experience trying to hike to the other side of the lake through the muddy mountain trails...

The kids loved their new fishing poles and it didn't even phase them that they really didn't have any hooks on the end of their lines...just fake fish they kept tossing into the lake and reeling back in...

Now we are planning our July vacations out... We have the opportunity to have the whole month of July off...thanks to our business partner taking everything over for the month...so here we come Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Texas, Arizona...

Shaving the Cat - "Baby"

Another Trip to NYC... Empire State Building & Grand Central Station

Another great trip to NYC and this time we scheduled time to go see The Empire State Building...it was amazing!

We first went up to the 86th Floor where the majority of everyone goes...which was the outdoor observation deck...which was cool having the wind remind you of how high up you were...

We took an old elevator from the 86th Floor to the 102nd Floor and the elevator was labeled in Feet not by floor number. Pretty cool...

Off in the distance is Central Park

Then we headed up to the 102nd floor...not too many people pay the extra to get up there...but I would highly recommend it to anyone...there is a host up there that will tell you details of the surrounding areas and let you know what you are looking at...I would spend the extra money and spend most of the time up there on the 102nd floor...

Planting our Garden. We decided we needed to plant a garden and start to learn how to work the earth. So we fixed up our backyard and are sharing the space w/ 2 other families.

We planted rows of corn, beans, spinach, lettuce, cantelope, watermelon, pumpkin, onions, various peppers, and much more...its pretty fun and I am completely sunburned but enjoyed every minute of it...

Ellis' Birthday! Our big 2 year old! It's amazing how time flies!

We did a very small informal Birthday for Ellis b/c on Saturday we will be having a large Birthday Party for him up at my parents house! This is Heidi giving him a present...one he actually kissed he was so excited about it...yes, a small toy front end loading tractor...it was pretty funny!

These are Ellis' best friends - Jake and Brennan...its super nice having such great neighborhood kids...its great cause if we are having a bad day in church...we can just send him over to Jake or Brennan and Ellis is good through church...or we can let him go play w/ these guys without worrying about

Well Spring Started off w/ a family trip down to AZ...

Steph's sister Teresa just had a little girl and was blessing her on Sunday so we all headed down to spend sometime w/ family.

After we got home from AZ

I took off for a Verizon Wireless project in NYC.
It was my first time to the big apple. So we visited quite a few places...like the Seinfeld Diner...pretty cool...

I even got to take my first subway ride down to the south side of the Island. That was pretty exciting...yes simple things get me excited...

While down there we were walking around Ground Zero...well there's a Hilton right across the street. I talked w/ the Manager and asked if we could go up and see a room over looking the Construction site...after first saying no...I then had to pull out my Diamond Hilton Honors card and she said ok since I was a Diamond she would take us up...on the 54th floor this is the view...Imagine the World Trade Center she said was well over 100 floors high...its hard to see people at that height...

Then we headed out to Harrisburg, PA for another Verizon Wireless job.

We were able to tour around Gettysburg...which was a really neat experience actually seeing and understanding some of the US History...I should have paid better attention to Mr. Dubois...I'm sure I would have enjoyed learning History.

Here is a caption I found in the museum in a section called, "letter's home"...It made me cry to think of how many men wrote home with something similar...and to think I had been on the road working and getting calls from my dear wife and wishing this exact samething!

In this room is when I really felt the spirit. I am sure our Heavenly Father was looking after all these men from both sides of the war. And to read some of these letters and to feel true love of the men towards their families was a pretty neat experience.

Then we headed into Philadelphia and went to Pat's for Steaks...it's the Original creator for the Philly CheeseSteak Sandwich...and wow they were great...I would highly recommend passing and getting one!

We also found the Rocky Statue! I was a little disappointed to find it on the side of the stairs in the grass instead of at its rightful place at the top of the stairs :)

And to end the trip to Philadelphia we stop by Independence Hall...Our Founding Father's are some of my biggest Mentors in life. They faced all types of adversities and came away winners!

And this is the room where the Declaration of Independence was signed...such an amazing room and one of the World's best Mastermind Groups to ever gather.

As I stood there the picture from the St. George Temple entered my mind. It was a really cool experience to know Our Heavenly Father has blessed this nation from the beginning. I only hope we continue to deserve His blessing and be a protected Nation Under God!

After being gone 10 days on the road...Steph had reached her limit and needed some time away from the kids...so I arranged to have the kids go to my parents house Friday Afternoon and they returned them Saturday Afternoon.

I took Steph to Corbin's Grill in Layton, UT...such great food...I'm really impressed with their service.

We then headed home and ended up in bed early and slept in till about 10:30am...we got up and watched Australia - that was a great movie too...

The kids came home and its been great relaxing at home again!

Friday Night Date Night

The Draper Temple Open House

It was a very memorable experience. First, we all met up at a local church house where we watched a quick introduction video to the Temple.

Then we enjoyed a quick 6 min bus ride to the Temple. The kids loved it.

This is walking through the covered and heated walkways to the entrance of the Temple. It was our first time taking the kids through an open house. All week Ora couldn't stop talking about going to the Temple and seeing Jesus. It was simple Faith and a quick lesson to all of us that its just that simple. The Temple is the House of the Lord...so why couldn't we see him there?...

There was definitely a special feeling as we toured the Temple with the kids. We walked through one of the endowment rooms where the walls were painted as if one was standing outside of the Temple and there were no houses around all there was was mountains and the salt lake valley off in the distance...beautiful! Of all the different rooms I loved the Celestial Room. I was holding Ellis as we walked through the doorway. Wow! Let me tell you it was a recognizable feeling one I've felt before w/ my family all around. Even though the Temple hasn't been dedicated yet you could still feel the Saviors presence there. And standing in that room with my whole family, Stephanie, Ora and Ellis. It was such a great experience. Hopefully, its something the kids will remember for a long time...

Afterwards, we were at the chapel getting water and cookies and as we were leaving to catch the bus back down we saw a familiar face...Elder Goodman from CA who is now living in Utah...he served his Mission in the Denver North Mission which included Cheyenne, Wy and our ward...he was in our ward when I graduated High School...quite awhile ago...

Then we all enjoyed a little Cafe Rio to finish the evening off... Ora had also planned all week to sleep over at Grandma and Grandpa's...so she went with them and we took Ellis home for a very peaceful evening! Updates on Ora's sleepover w/ Grandma to come.

You know I've been thinking more and more lately that we should be more grateful for the things we have. Because we do live in such a wonderful world right now and its seems that nobody really is thankful for what we have...so I thought I'd mention a couple things I was grateful for...

First, I filled up w/ diesel for $1.90/gallon...where this same time last year I think it was closer to $5.00/gallon...so definitely cheaper and I'm so grateful for that...

So, yes it was only $63.50 to fill up...where before it would have been over $200/fill up...this is such an amazing economy right now...everything is on sale...

My dad raised to cattle in his pasture and had them slaughtered and we got 1/2 a cow which was quite a bit of meat...it filled up our freezer and definitely helps w/ food storage...

This was our first dinner w/ the meat...we ended up celebrating w/ a New York Steak and a Ribeye...both super tasty...

I am so grateful for my family...I've definitely learned over the past couple months the importance of family...and our kids are so cute...what more do you need...Family, Church, Food :)

Just thought I'd throw on some cute pictures...

Ora woke up and usually goes out and plays w/ toys for awhile before she comes in and wakes us up...well on Saturday she came running in yelling "rainbow, rainbow"...so of course we're like oh ok...whatever...then she started saying, "rainbow in house" so that got us up wondering what that was all about...

But I guess the sun was hitting just right on the fish tank and created a couple prisms throughout the front room...they were pretty cool and the kids thought they were so fun...

Then yesterday after church we were outside playing at the park...when Ora comes over and lets us know she made a flower for us...so we walk over and sure enough she had made a flower w/ a tennis racket she found at the park...pretty smart girl...and super cute...

Then that night we hung out at Heidi and Jim's and it had been a long day...about 7:30pm we look over on the couch and Ora is out cold...she had been watching tv and fell asleep...

Our kids are so much fun...we love having them and getting to spend time with them...I've been working really hard as a DAD to spend time with my kids...I've really had to change my actions on how I respond to the kids...and take breaks from work to spend 5-10 minutes with them...I've notice by just spending some quality time they really are alot more calm and nice to each other...

I guess its true then that kids really do need the love of their parents and that if everyone just spent time with their kids and actually SHOWED them love we could live in such a happier world and alot of problems could be solved by the family unit.

The Prophets really know what they are talking about...they are so inspired...

School and Swimming

Well this week was another fun adventure...filled w/ school and work and more family fun...

Well we decided to take Ora to school on Thursday so that we could also stop by the CPA and sign taxes...I love that there are such great professionals out there that help us out so much...

Ora loves school and is learning so much...she loves school and when we drop her off she runs up to the door and runs in excited to learn more...hopefully another year of preschool won't be too boring for her...

Then as a family we went to the Lehi Pool...which is really cool...they have a really fun kids area and then a deeper pool for the older kids and an even smaller pool for super little kids...and then they also have a big slide...which is super fun to take the kids down...

I'm glad our kids love swimming...I grew up in the pool so it was hard at first when Ora didn't want to swim...but now its hard to get them out of the water they love it so much...

I think the plan this summer is to rent the pool out for Ora's and Steph's Birthday Party...that should be a fun day...so if you live out of state you'll definitely want to be up to Utah the first week of July...

Sunday:

Today we had Tage, Amber and Davis down w/ my Parents...it was so much fun...we all had fun playing bowling on the Wii...sad to say Ora beat Grandpa's score...but she is really good at bowling...Dad is still a PRO Bowler and enjoys that we don't have to deal w/ the crowds at the real bowling alley...

Ora and Ellis love it when Grandma and Grandpa come down...its so much fun for them to see their relatives...its sad to think some relatives don't want to spend time down here...oh well their loss...

Well, for the past week we've all been hit by the Flu...it was horrible...but an eye opener to how hard it is when the whole family is sick and no one is feeling great but we are all still trying to help each other out...

Here's Ellis brushing his teeth...he and Ora are the same...they have to do it...

Then one morning after eating cereal...Ellis was so freezing cold...I just stripped him down and heated him up in the sink...he loved it...

Yesterday for Family Home Evening...we had a great lesson on being nice to each other and being nice to our brother and sister...hopefully they got it a little? :)

Then we danced and rocked out as a family...Ora was the lead singer...Ellis was both a dancer and tambourine player while mom and dad had tennis racket quitars...it was really fun...we have our computer hooked up to the TV so we pumped iTunes through the TV and danced and sang for almost 30 mins...

Its fun moments like this I hope our kids remember...that Mom and Dad are really weird but have lots of fun doing it... :)

Las Vegas Weekend w/ Bob Proctor

We had a great opportunity to go to Vegas this last weekend w/ our great friends Jim & Heidi...and we just piggybacked w/ them into VIP Seats...it was such a great weekend...

It started off driving down...and stopping to eat in St. George...the weather was great...we had our jackets off and enjoyed the warmth of the sun...

When we got to Vegas...I immediately had to use the men's room...well it was a great relief...I saw this on an email that went around once and thought it was pretty cool...but to see it in person...that was really fun...I got the one that was 3rd from the left... :) I guess she was pretty shocked... :)

Well, then b/c Jim had purchase some pretty cool tickets...we all got to spend some private time w/ Bob...Friday Night was for VIP's only...and there was only about 15 of them...pretty cool...we sat right in front of him and had a really cool Q&A...

Then, Saturday the first day of the Seminar - "The Science of Getting Rich"...and it was great...for those that don't know...Bob Proctor was one of the Major Players in the movie "The Secret"...

After the Seminar we walked around the Las Vegas Strip like everyone does...we visited the Wynn Hotels...and those were pretty fancy...they have great restaurants...and amazing shops...we went into a Jeweler...Steph tried on a $200,000 ring...and I tried on a Rolex worth $106,500...but that wasn't the most expensive Rolex they had...it was $250,000...crazy...not sure I could ever pay that much for a watch...but let me tell you it did feel great on my wrist...

And of course Las Vegas is becoming more and more evil and its harder and harder to go down there...soon I won't want to even go down anymore...but here is another prophesy being fulfilled...Idols being built...very interesting...the other funny thing was I took this picture over a little asian girl who was taking a picture of her friend... :) She was short...

This was another great restaurant...it was great for dessert...and why not...It has the World's Largest Chocolate Fountain...which was really cool...

Here's Heidi and Jim hanging out in our Hotel Room...we stayed at the Hilton...why? Well, I travel a little and I'm a Diamond Hilton Honors member which gives us pretty good benefits...we got a nice 2 room suite for $60/night...it was sweet...we got breakfast for free...its just fun getting upgraded all the time...that's probably why I like traveling so much :)...and this was definitely a trip where we got to know Heidi and Jim alot better...it was alot of fun...

You're probably asking what happened to the kids? Well, we had Becky Kim come up and nanny for us while we were gone...She did a great job and the kids loved her...its great that family is always there to help out...

Overall...we loved the Trip and it was a great chance for Steph and I to get away...something we definitely need to do more often...I am so grateful for Steph...she keeps me thinking positively and assisting me achieve my full potential...she is the greatest...I Love You Steph...thanks again for everything...

Ora's First Day of School

I can't believe its already here...Ora's First Day of School...

It was hard to get her in but Steph found a Private Preschool which takes kids a year early and gets them ready for next years Preschool...

It's really nice and the Teacher is going to be so much fun...most of her class is from our neighborhood...so there is 3 other kids in her class from the ward...

When she got home she showed us what they had learned...its so much fun seeing her learn...she is really excited...she goes 2 times per week for a couple hours each...

I think one of the best things being a parent is watching your kid learn and grow...and seeing all the possibilities out there...there's so much opportunity we tend to forget that when we are older...

Goals 2009!

Well, sharing Goals is really hard for me...I usually have very high expectations and only my close friends and family don't laugh at me for them...so thanks Makell for asking me to post...hopefully I don't get too many laughs...

1. Purchase a house in our neighborhood and pay down 1/2 the mortgage by Dec 2009. We are currently renting which has been great...we've associated w/ so many business owners and have made so many great friends who are all very intelligent...we are determined to stay in this ward family...

2. Take our Retail Business to over $1,000,000 in revenue...and get our online marketing business to cover all our personal monthly expenses...

Wii Family Fun!

Well, in my business...all the retailers don't want us in their stores during the Holidays...so I haven't really had to work since Nov...but we are glad that the projects have started coming in again...

The 3 month break was great and it was fun spending so much time w/ the family and kids...I'm the luckiest man alive we are so blessed and I have such a great wife and kids...what else is there to life...

1 high achievement since Christmas was I became a PRO Bowler on the Wii...

Its pretty exciting...I am sure close to becoming PRO in Tennis as well...

Ora does a great job bowling as well and is consistently bowling around 100...which makes it a fun Family Home Evening activity...w/ 3 of us able to bowl...she is slowly getting the hang of Baseball and can strike Mom and Dad both out...sad to say!

So here's to staying home and vegging for 3 months and increasing our skills at video games! :)

Time is just flying by...I can't believe its already 10 days into 2009!

Well since the Holidays Ora has gotten pretty good on the Wii and does a great job bowling...

After the Holidays Adam and Eleisha came down to visit...and Sarah and Kael were up from AZ visiting...and so we all decided to get the kids out of the house and play together...

We heard the Children's Tree Museum in Ogden was a great place...so we went there and it was great...there were so many people but it didn't seem like it...and there was so much for everyone to do there wasn't a line for anything...and most of all it was CLEAN...you go some places where kids play all day long and it really feels dirty...

Snow covered Hill's during Christmas!

We started out the Christmas Season w/ Stephs' Uncle Bruce's Family Christmas Party...its a great time to play Candy Bar games, gift exchange and let all the little cousins run around together...

One of the things we like to do as a family is drive around and search for Christmas Lights...there were quite a few houses that went over board in the Holladay area and in the Alpine - Highland area...it was great...the kids love looking at the lights and the different blowup options that people put on their front lawns...

We definitely had a White Christmas...which I am always excited for...it was getting close there...Utah still had no snow late into December...I'm glad Jake Frost was able to deliver for Christmas Day...not too sure how our friends in Mendoza, Argentina could do Christmas without snow playing in their pool...but I'm glad everyone had a great Christmas all over the world.

Ora got alot of things from Santa but none more fun the her "Mirror" she can now sit down and get all dressed up in her princess dresses and then do her hair and makeup and get all beautiful to go dancing with her prince...she hasn't left it alone...

My Christmas gift from Santa was the TV...Steph's was her custom Entertainment Center which she drew up and designed...she didn't have a clue I would get it build by Christmas or even that I was building it...many many thanks goes to the master carpenter behind the build my business partner Blair...thanks buddy...she loves it...

You can also see the Bike we got for Ellis...all Christmas Day he wouldn't get off his bike...then from Aunt Amy he got a bike horn we attached to the front...and now what else does a little man need...a bike and a horn...anything else is besides the point...now he can cruise the park and pick up the little ladies...

Ora in her Beautiful Christmas Dress...its amazing how fast they grow up...this was her last Sunday in Nursery...she is now officially in Sunbeams...pretty fun...cause now I get to see her every Sunday in Junior Primary since I teach the 7-8 year olds...

Our Handsome man in his Christmas Outfit...the bonk on his forehead is from playing with the neighborhood boys...they just brought him back to us a couple afternoons ago and said he hurt himself...boys will be boys...

We got together with Steph's family after Christmas and enjoyed playing the Wii...what amazes me is how fast Ora has picked it up and does very well...she loves her Disney Princess game we got her and stays up late each night playing it...its so much fun to watch the excitement in her eyes when she plays on her own...

Ellis is finally growing out of his crib...so we've been trying the big bed scene...he did ok the first night...the only problem is Ellis rolls all over the place and Ora probably got beat up that night...

Taking a moment to reflect on the year is something both filled with emotion and excitement. It was a great year with the Businesses and it was a fun year with the family filled with many wonderful memories. For 2009 will be another exciting year for our Family and one that we will thoroughly enjoy!

Holiday Update!

Well its been a busy season...doing almost nothing :) We got Christmas taken care of early and Dec is a month no one wants us in putting up new displays in their stores...so I've had the month off...

So, Steph and I got hooked on Lost...thanks to my business partner Blair Rhodehouse...he showed me that online at www.abc.com you can watch full episodes...so we are now into Season 4...almost ready for Season 5 to come out in Jan...

We don't watch TV Series too often so it will be nice to be able to chat w/ Gordon and Christi without feeling in the dark on shows...

We had Thanksgiving at my in-laws (Rudds) it was alot of fun...b/c the kids were able to get together and play...its perfect that Adam & Eleisha have kids the same age as ours...

We went to Temple Square and saw the lights...its amazing each year...it really is a year we need to start thinking more about Christ and His role in our lives...

Eric and Teresa (from AZ) brought their Wii up and that was alot of fun...that was really the first time I've ever played the Wii...so after the Thanksgiving week...I came home and ordered us a Wii for Christmas...we bought Mariocart w/ 4 steering wheels, and Cabela's Dangerous Hunts, and Call of Duty...plus we bought 2 shotguns from CTA...they are really cool looking...still haven't played w/ them yet...but that should definitely make Call of Duty be more exciting...

We also bought the Wii Fit that won't ship till the 20th so hopefully we'll get that Christmas...and we've ordered a new LCD tv to replace our old free 17" :) oh and we bought a princess one for Ora...I hope it will be fun...if anyone has any of those games let me know whats good and bad...

I was looking into the Xbox 360 or the Sony PS3 but we figured the Wii would be more fun for the kids as they grow up...and it would be a good Family Home Evening activity...

Ora plays quite a bit on the computer...and she loves Print Shop...so the other day she comes running in super excited...so we came into the computer room and you can't really read it but...its says, "ORA"...I thought that was pretty good using the mouse and her being 3 1/2...

Then we had Davis' Birthday Party...he just turned 1...it was really funny b/c he didn't like to get his face dirty...I find it so interesting how each of us are so different...like Ellis...would have just cramed the cake into his mouth not really caring if he got dirty or not...

So far its been a great month...and Christmas should be even more exciting...

An exciting weekend!

Well it started off with Friday Date Night...

Fridays are difficult to find a babysitter...they all want to go hang out with their friends more than make a couple bucks... :) so we've included our kids in date night...

We went and bought Kung Fu Panda...it was a pretty good show...the kids loved it...and Ora ended up watching it a couple more times all day Saturday...

Then the exciting additions to our family...

We've been building up our fish tank and getting everything we need for that...well right next to it was the pet adoption area and they had the cutiest kitties...

So we ended up getting a couple...

We named one "Baby" I fell in love with this one...she is extremely overweight for an 8 month old...and she waddles when she walks and runs...its pretty cute...she reminds me of a cat I had in Minnesota...

and the other "Tiny" Steph fell in love with the blue eyed beauty...he is handsome...I'm just not one for male cats...he has a little collar w/ a tiny bell on it and you can hear jingle bells throughout the house...

The greatest thing is they are both litter box trained and super nice...they both sleep well in bed by our feet which during the winter we'll need to keep our feet warm...

The kids absolutely love them...its nice to have cats in the house again...but it was funny...I sent Steph in to pick out a cat and she came out with both of them...she went from not really liking cats to 1 cat and now 2 cats... :) hopefully when I'm gone she doesn't turn into a cat lady... :)

Madison, Wisconsin and the Sears Tower!

Well it was another event filled trip...

It all started by flying into Chicago-Midway...and like everytime I fly into Chicago there is always something that makes me second guess why I fly...this time was no different...

As we were coming in for a landing...landing gear down and the houses were getting closer and closer...all of the sudden the pilot increased throttle and took a sharp up and to the right turn...being forced into our seats was scary enough...then after a couple minutes of crazy maneuvering the pilot finally lets us in on what the heck he was doing..."well folks, sorry about that back there...we had to avoid another aircraft..." yes, we were going to crash into another plane and our brave pilot saved us :) Then, the lady seated next to me was very kind to explain just a week ago 2 planes almost touched wings in Chicago...ya not what I needed to hear...

So after my nerves calmed down we drove around downtown Chicago just for fun...we didn't have to be on the job site till the next day...so we decided to go to the Sears Tower...

I guess Chicago is bidding on an Olympics...hopefully thats the Summer Games...not sure where they would do Winter Games?

I couldn't believe it...I've never been in a building so tall...it was just a little crazy when the elevator reached the 103rd floor...and then we got to the windows and looked down...

On our way out we dropped 103 floors in 60 seconds...pretty quick if you ask me...

Parking was just a little more than I was estimating...$23 for a little over an hour...it would have been cheaper if we got there before 9am and got the all day rate for $18...

We then made our way to Madison, Wisconsin...which was a pretty area...the weather was great, nice and warm...until the weekend and then it started to snow...

We were on site to setup a new Verizon Wireless Store there...it was a great job and everything went smooth...

We drove by the State Capital...its always fun to see the slight differences in State Capitals...each state is unique but we are all very similar in operations...

New House Pets!

As most of you know we lost Missy our beautiful cat a couple months back... It's been really hard not having a pet around...

So out of the blue...I needed to have FISH...we've had a Gold Fish for almost a yr now and that is nice and all but I really need a large Fish Community...

I guess I should have waited a couple days...the tank is covered in little tiny air bubbles...it makes it hard to get a great picture...

It took me a couple days and I finally got the family all together and we went out and bought a new Fish Tank... 30 gal... and we stocked it with close to 15 different fish...(I guess the rule of thumb is 1" of adult fish per gallon of water) Our biggest fish will probably be 2" long...so we might add more in the future...

We all love it...and Ora and Ellis were just blown away by the water and the fish...its fun to see the excitement and wonder on their faces...I got a little younger today getting it all ready...

Steph, picked out all the Fish and I picked out the accessories...pump, filter, bubbles...and then we both worked together in picking out the plants and decorations...

She even bought one of those underwater frogs...he's pretty cool...

Now that we have fish...we'll be waiting for Makell and Mike to breed their dog...while we wait...we might get another cat...

What's with families that have every type of pet...I think we'll stop after the dog...

Halloween Parties

Well, Halloween is one of Steph's favorite holidays... So its no surprise she goes all out...

Ora is Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) or as she thinks it says in the movie Princess Ora...So mom and dad dresses up like her Royal Parents...

We attended Tage and Amber's Halloween Party this past weekend...and its been fun every year we go...The first couple years I felt kind of old...I'm glad this year there were a few more older adults...it was a good mix...

We had a video scavenger hunt and ate some great food and they even had a bubble machine there that would blow bubbles but at the same time fill them with smoke...Ellis and Ora absolutely loved that...

Ellis is a Police Officer...he loves to ride his Motorcycle...and since we couldn't get it away from him...we decided to purchase it...

Can't wait till Friday so we can go out and get lots of FREE candy!...

Dear family and friends,

I had a very disturbing experience yesterday that I would like to share with
those of you that live outside of California (or outside of the San Francisco
Bay Area).
This weekend we have stake conference. Our stake conference always begins with
a stake temple session on Friday or Thursday night. Early Friday morning I
received a call from the second counselor in our bishopric to let me know that
there would be numerous protesters outside the temple, and to remind everyone to
stay calm and to drive carefully. The beautiful Oakland Temple is located right
across the bay from San Francisco, very close to the city of Berkeley.
Apparently the opposition to proposition 8, the amendment that seeks to make
marriage in CA between a man and a woman again, has realized the deep
involvement of the church and begun to protest right outside of the temple and
harass temple patrons. The fastest way to get to the temple from our house is
to take the 680 freeway, but the exit is a bit tricky. The off ramp is
extremely short and straight uphill. You then make an almost blind left turn,
an immediate right and another left into the parking lot. As we! approached the off ramp,
I realized there would be trouble. There was a
backup onto the freeway from cars stalled on the off ramp. As we moved forward
inches at a time, we realized this was due to a large group of loud protesters
who were standing on both sides of the street, yelling, screaming and waving
signs. When we got to the top of the offramp, ready to make our turn, one
protester jumped out right in front of our car. It took my husband all his self
control to carefully maneuver around him to the left and proceed to the temple.
I tried not to listen to all they were shouting at us, but I was shaking as I
got to the temple front door. Several of the sisters, especially the ones
driving on their own, were crying (which made me snap out of it and go into RS
President mode to comfort them). Later, as I was sitting in the perfect quiet
of the chapel, I couldn't help but think of Lehi's dream, and the people
who mocked the Saints from the big spacious building but !
'we heeded them not.' It was a truly surreal experience, I'd !
never thought that I would have to go through an angry crowd to get to the
temple. As we left late at night, the protesters had dispersed, temple security
(who all looked very large and Tongan) stood by the gates. I never saw a single
police man.
Please pray for those of us in California fighting for prop 8--it's getting
kind of scary out here!

Ellis and I got to run around and do a few errands the other day...which is so much fun...having both is a handful but having just one makes the errands so much easier to handle...

While driving I turn around and Ellis is just hanging out with Mom's hat on...

Family Fun w/ Breakfast for Dinner!

So we pulled a chair over and let her mix things up...

Mom started making Orange Juice...while Ora had to taste the pancake mix to see if it was just right...

We even taught her how to flip the pancakes when they were ready...and it was great she didn't burn any of them...she even poured the batter herself...

And Ellis sat on the big pot watching TV...and loving it...

New Toys!

Well we finally got tired of our old vacuum and decided to go get ourselves a Dyson...

If you haven't heard too much about them...its a bagless vacuum which never loses suction...

Our first experiences w/ it were mind blowing...

And just after vacuuming up the front room we realized...our old vacuum wasn't doing a thing except spreading the dirt around...

I would highly recommend everyone get one...we found ours as Costco...

Another family Trip - Arizona!

Well Makell and Mike were planning on Jaxon's baby blessing this last weekend...so Steph and I decided to head down and hang out with family...

We left Thursday and stayed in Las Vegas...it was a good half-way point to stop and let the kids stretch their legs and get the wiggles out...we stayed at the Hilton again...I guess there are perks to traveling quite a bit...that's the Free upgrades...

Ellis got into some trouble when he threw a glass and it shattered into a million pieces...when mom and dad got over there...he was barefoot and ready to throw another one...he thought it was great...so we put him into time out...ya its not too effective on him...

We purchased "Sleeping Beauty" for Ora and she watched it 5 times on the drive down to AZ...she thinks its Princess Ora not Princess Aurora... :) so its her movie...so she thinks...but she is our own Princess Ora...and a very special one at that...

We finished the drive Friday morning...

We stayed w/ Teresa (Steph's sister) and Erik in No. Phoenix and Sarah (Steph's sister) and Kael and Porter came over and we all played Friday Night...

Saturday we hung out w/ Makell/Mike and my parents...at Freeport Park in Mesa...it was another great time for the kids to run around...

One of the best parts of the trip was while it was Snowing in Utah we were enjoying the Sun in Arizona...I even wore shorts all day Saturday...

Sunday was a great opportunity to be apart of Jaxon's blessing...and then Steph and I braved the long drive home and drove straight through...it was nice to finally sleep in our own bed...

He is super cute...congrats Makell and Mike...

Family Trip - Vegas!

Well, I received a small job and instead of sending my vegas guy to do it...I decided its time for a family vacation...

So we headed down to Las Vegas this last Tuesday...it was such a fun trip...the only problem was everything FREE and for the kids to see has been turned into something FREE that only adults w/out morals can enjoy...

We stayed at the Hilton where they kindly upgraded us to a 2 room suite and gave us free breakfast each day we were there...it was very nice to have the kids sleeping in their own rooms and us in ours...plus it was nice for them to actually have room to run and wear themselves out...

They had a great pool...Ellis likes to swim...Ora likes to play in water but not really swim or get water in her face...its a little disappointing since I grew up in the water...so I guess I'll just get use to it...

I ran over Wed morning to get my job completed...it was fairly easy and I was out of Fry's.com in about an hour...

We decided we should also go see the Seigfrid and Roy's Secret Garden...which the kids loved...

Unfortunately, Las Vegas is no longer a family destination...which if you can't be there with your kids I guess its not really worth going...

Over the past couple weeks I've been slowly teaching Ora the computer...she is doing fairly well now...she can open her games and play them on her own...she loves the matching games for some reason...she is a very bright girl and one who enjoys learning...I hope she will always enjoy learning...

Banff National Park - Alberta, Canada

I was in Canada for work...we were working for Apple in Future Shops(owned by Best Buy)...

We were setting up New Apple Displays within each store...

We worked 6am to 10am and had the rest of the day to travel and see Canada...We were able to spend a day in Banff, Alberta, Canada...I guess its a National Park too...Its quite large...and downtown Banff has a similar feel of downtown Jackson Hole, Wyoming...however, Banff has alot more friendly people working there than Jackson Hole does...

One thing I've always wanted was for Coca-Cola/Fanta to bring all their flavors of pop to the US... In the US they have Fanta Grape and Fanta Strawberry; in Argentina they had Fanta Limon (Lemon), Fanta Manzana (apple), Fanta Naranja (orange)...

And in Canada they have Fanta Red Cream, Fanta Red Tangerine, Fanta Raisin, Fanta Blue Rasberry, and Fanta Grape....

It would be great to have all those flavors here...

I also noticed Canada has their Maple Leaf in everything...from the McDonald's "Golden Arches" to their true blue retail stores, "The Real Canadian Superstore" this is even more white trash than Most Wal-Marts...

I got really excited when I saw the American Border...we were finally back home...

Other than all that it was nice to visit...but I'm am so glad to be an American...we are definitely a chosen people and hopefully we'll continue to be...

Just a couple more things I've found to be cool, interesting or slightly funny...

Wal-Mart...well...our first time looking for the Bathroom...I mean "Washroom"

It's been a while since I've seen play money...however, the Canadian Dollar is more valuable than our US Dollar...

A cool old part of downtown Calgary...the old train station...I believe its still used today...there are tracks all over the place...

Then we had quite a bit of time and went over to see the Saddledome...I guess its where the Ice Skating was done during the Olympics here in the 80's...

Come to find out it was the home of the Calgary Flames...an NHL team...who have just started pre-season play... so we were looking into tickets for a game tomorrow night...

And they were practicing...so we went in for a little practice time...

So we got tickets to the game against Florida tomorrow night...it should be a fun time...

We also have plans to visit Banff a National Park...which is suppose to be really beautiful...

Road Trip - Canada

We'll business takes me up to Canada to train a couple crews on an Apple rollout we have going through the whole month of Oct...

I didn't realize Canada was so different...

Crossing through customs into Canada...

If you notice this is right inside Canada...and behind the sign you'll see absolutely nothing...and there wasn't anything for at least an hour drive...

The box pop here is sold in smaller quantities... not ounces but mliters...

And the gas was $1.23 per litre...about $4.64/gallon...crazy...my buddy who came w/ me tried to buy cigarettes a pack cost over $10...I told him he had to quit...

I'll keep everyone updated on how it goes...

Friday Night, Family Date Night!

Well, we ended up spending a great friday night w/ the kids...

We honestly try to spend it alone and leave the kids w/ a babysitter...unfortunately we couldn't find a sitter...

So we all went down to the family fun park...Del Taco...

yes, the place where you can feed a family of 4 for $5... :)

Ora loved climbing up into the playground thing and then walking down the slide...

Ellis on the other hand...needed help getting up into the playpin...so dad had fun climbing up inside w/ ellis...then it took him quite a while just crawling around up there until he finally found the slide and went down head first...he's such a brave little man...

and it was fun for the kids they play in the playground for almost an hour...and when we finally got into the truck ellis crashed and ora was soon to follow...

Dating is always so much fun w/ the kids...

Well, we've been busy...getting our food storage ready...and we finally have 3 months food storage...a little sooner than Thanksgiving...but we decided we'll need to have 6 months in place by Thanksgiving...

So we were out shopping...we've decided to try and get Christmas Shopping done by Thanksgiving as well...it makes the holiday season a little easier to enjoy...it really worked out well last year...

Ora loves shopping and she loves her Princess stuff...anything to do with princesses...

We were at Wal-mart last night...and Steph and I turned around for a minute and look back and Ora has loaded up on buckets...I guess she is going for a record amount of candy collection this year...

In fact she cleaned the store out of Princess Buckets...

She is so cute...we love her...

Utah State Fair!

Well for Family Home Evening we ended up at the Utah State Fair...it was my first time that I could remember going to the State Fair...so it was exciting for all of us...

We went w/ Jim & Heidi and their kids Rachel, Jake and Luke...

We saw sheep, cows, goats, pigeon's, tigers, pigs and alot more...the kids loved it...I couldn't believe how big some of these cows and bulls were...some of the dairy cows stood taller than me...over 6'...that's a crazy big dairy cow...

We also saw lots of toys...(amusement park rides) and Ora wanted to play w/ the toys all night long...unfortunately she was too small to get on very many...

Ora loved to see the toys and she got even more excited to see "knives"...not really sure where she gets a love for pocket knives...but hopefully it won't last too long...

Its always fun to see all the new inventions and things you can buy that have come out...

The tigers were pretty fun...Ora and Ellis kept growling like tiny little cats...and the tigers kept looking over at them...

Full Event Filled Sunday!

Today started out great... we had Regional Conference and it was actually 135 stakes within Happy Valley...they mentioned that the church had reached the 135 stake mark back in the 40's...and today we are holding regional conference w/ that many...

The one point they stressed heavily - 3 Month Food Storage by Thanksgiving...that was Pres. Packer and Pres. Uchdorf...so heads up everyone...

We got home about noon and put the kids down for a nap...

Ora woke up first like normal and started playing...then we heard Ellis jumping around...we decided to go in...and to our surprise he had taken his FULL diaper off and had smeared it all over the crib, in his hair, all over his body, it was something I never want to experience again...

So it took us both awhile to clean him up and the room...

Then after that was all said and done...we had some snacks...chocolate pudding...and yes, dad started having flash backs...

After the clean up we spent the afternoon at the park...its so nice having a park right across the street...in a semi private neighborhood...its peaceful...

Congrats to Michael Phelps... 8 unbelievable GOLD Medals...

Swimming is still in me everytime I watch the Olympics...I want to jump back in the pool and see what I can do...but then I remember the times I do jump in and swim a little I get winded after just 5 minutes...

Michael Phelps took the record from Mark Spitz and even then its amazing how the World Records just kept falling in these Olympic Games...

I was lucky. I found what I loved to do early in life. Woz and I started Apple in my parents garage when I was 20. We worked hard, and in 10 years Apple had grown from just the two of us in a garage into a $2 billion company with over 4000 employees. We had just released our finest creation - the Macintosh - a year earlier, and I had just turned 30. And then I got fired. How can you get fired from a company you started?

Well, as Apple grew we hired someone who I thought was very talented to run the company with me, and for the first year or so things went well. But then our visions of the future began to diverge and eventually we had a falling out. When we did, our Board of Directors sided with him. So at 30 I was out. And very publicly out. What had been the focus of my entire adult life was gone, and it was devastating.

I really didn't know what to do for a few months. I felt that I had let the previous generation of entrepreneurs down - that I had dropped the baton as it was being passed to me. I met with David Packard and Bob Noyce and tried to apologize for screwing up so badly. I was a very public failure, and I thought about running away from the valley. But something slowly began to dawn on me - I still loved what I did. The turn of events at Apple had not changed that one bit. I had been rejected, but I was still in love. And so I decided to start over.

I didn't see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.

During the next five years, I started a company named NeXT, another company named Pixar, and fell in love with an amazing woman who would become my wife. Pixar went on to create the worlds first computer animated feature film, Toy Story, and is now the most successful animation studio in the world. In a remarkable turn of events, Apple bought NeXT.

I returned to Apple, and the technology we developed at NeXT is at the heart of Apple's current renaissance. And Laurene and I have a wonderful family together.

I'm pretty sure none of this would have happened if I hadn't been fired from Apple.It was awful tasting medicine, but I guess the patient needed it. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers.

Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking.

Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle.

Last Night's Date Night!

Last night Steph and I decided to do something different for Date Night...

We took our daughter Ora on a date...

We ended up going to see Wall E in the theatres...this is the first time since she's been real little that we took her...and it wasn't too bad...she sat through most of it...

She tried talking to Wall E not really using her quite voice...

Her popcorn fell on the floor and next thing we knew she was eating off the floor...and since I use to work for the Mall Theatres in Cheyenne it grossed me out to think how clean that floor was...

But after it was all said and done we all had a great time...she enjoyed the movie...and mom and dad weren't totally embarrassed...

Its something I think we should start doing every month w/ our kids...really taking a little 1 on 1 time with each of them...

I am glad she is in our family and we are excited to watch her grow...

My sweet Missy!

My dear friend Missy past on today...05/93-08/08...15 years and 3 months w/ us...more then 1/2 my lifetime...

She wasn't walking the same and slept alot more then normal and wasn't really eating her food...I was going to take her to the vet....when I woke up and heard her gasping for air...she was so limp...i just held her and after a little while she stopped breathing...so I put my fingers on her heart and held her until it stopped...and she pasted on...I am glad she waited till morning so I could hold her and tell her how much I loved her one last time...it was a touching moment and one I'll never forget...

We got her back in May '93 and she's been the best pet to have around...she lived in my room for quite sometime...then she moved in when Steph and I got married and lived in SLC...and has been w/ Steph and I since...

She was a great listener, dancer, and could always put a smile on your face, when needed...plus at night she would settle down by my feet and keep me warm during the night...in the last couple years though she needed to climb under the sheets so I could keep her warm...she was a little more on the skinny side and needed the added warmth...I keep waking up at night to make sure I haven't rolled on top of her or think I need to move her...but she's just not there anymore...

I think that's one of the hardest things is realizing the habits I've formed around her...

She loved human food and really didn't like her own too well...yogurt, cheese or turkey were her favorites...

She loved to play w/ her toys and I could even get her really going crazy when I would pretend my hand was a mouse under the sheets or blanket...and she would pounce... and really go after me...and then if she got mad she would let me know by doing this deep growl, "like leave me alone I'm done playing"...

I am glad she was around so long...

In Cheyenne, it was understood she ruled the upstairs and Buster had control of the downstairs...it was always a tricky thing for her to get downstairs and use the litterbox...but she was one of the smartest kitties I've ever known...she would out smart Buster and get down stairs faster then buster knew what was going on...

We were able to bury Missy next to Buster up at my parents house...they were good friends...I am especially grateful for my Dad...who took the time to dig a hole for her...I honestly don't think I would have had the strength to do it...or let alone see what I was doing...

She will be greatly missed...I am glad for friendships and even though we'll definitely see them again...It's always hard to say good-bye for now...

Thanks for the memories, I'll see you again soon...

I have finally quit my "job"...

Steph and I are super excited...I'll now have more time to devote to our other businesses...allowing for those to grow quicker and more effectively than ever before...

I have always been someone who hasn't liked authority and every single job I've ever had, has never really satisfied me to the point of enjoying to wake up and go to work...

PnI Weight Loss www.pniweightloss.com and Jd hill LLC www.jd-hill.com are the exceptions...I could work on those projects all day long...and I do...I thoroughly enjoy them...

Like any project please pray for us...so that everything will go well and we'll be fully able to assist others...

We need to find what we love and do it...I don't care what it is...you need to find what you like to do and get it done...if thats washing dishes at the Little America then do it...(I actually loved that) or if you are currently in a career and its not what you've always dreamed of...figure out what it is you want and change...

My dad is the perfect example of following his heart/dream once he learned he could...

He had been in the Restaurant Industry w/ Pizza Hut, Golden Corral, and Taco John's and finally when they backed him into a corner he had to look within...he finally realized thats not what he wanted to do the rest of his life...so he went back to school and got his degree I think in Sports Medicine/Personal Training...

He is currently training/teaching and loving every minute of it...

How many people actually have the desire for something more enjoyable...but stay around for the paycheck...YOU AREN'T DOING YOURSELF OR THE COMPANY ANY FAVORS BY BEING THERE FOR THE CHECK...money isn't everything...

We are here on Earth that we may have JOY!!! Men are FREE to choose if they will accept that joy or not...

I would recommend taking a moment and seriously thinking about what it is you want...If you are already in it...Congratulations!! If not, CHANGE!!

Have JOY and enjoy your career and your life here...It's a test!! And its actually a test we can have fun with...

I would recommend "The Seasons of Life" by Jim Rohn...one of the greatest books ever written...

Have a great weekend...I know I will since I'm in control of my time now...I don't have to ask anyone ever again for time off to spend with my family...I can just do it...

Father's Day Weekend!!

Well another Father's Day come and gone...

It's always interesting looking back on life and past experiences and really comparing them to current situations...It's not easy being a Dad and I only hope as I'm sure my Dad does that his kids will still love him and think of him as a great man...

I can definitely say I love my Dad and I'm so grateful for everything he has taught me...and I'm glad he doesn't dislike me for some of the rough times I've been through...It's amazing how a dad can love and I am learning more and more that it is definitely a Gift from our Heavenly Father and without it the world wouldn't continue to go round...

Families are so important...everyone needs a loving Father figure and I am glad my mentor when it comes to families is my DAD...

I only hope I can be as good a dad as he was for us...there wasn't much time to spend together when we were little...and hopefully we can spend as much time together as possible now...so that I can build a stronger relationship with him to cherish forever...and so when the time does come that he leaves us I won't regret not building that relationship...

I hope we all can cherish our Father's for what they can teach us...even if they aren't the best people...for some purpose they are in our lives...Life isn't an accident...love them for the Good they did if only it was to bring you into this wonderful experience called life...

I want to Thank my Dad for the honor of being apart of his family...Thank you Dad for the memories, the teachings and the fun we'll have from now till forever...

Ora being turned into a Mermaid by Uncle Tage...in one of the largest sand boxes I've seen...my dad has built his backyard for the Grandkids...

It was so HOT we ended up breaking out the tarp for a little slip-n-slide action...on this run we didn't realize until halfway through that Dre (Lisa's Rot) had pee-ed on the tarp...we came up smelling terrible...so we had to go through a couple more times to clean us off...

Ora didn't like the slip-n-slide at all so Grandpa filled up the Horse Trough...she loved it... we are all still trying to convince my dad into building a swimming pond...hopefully that will be in and ready by next summer...then we won't need the horse trough...

There's nothing better than enjoying a relaxing day with the Family...I am so glad our family is so close we can hang out and not kill each other afterwards...the family bond is special and I'm grateful we have such a strong one...

7 Peaks w/ the Family!!

We'll today we enjoyed a wonderful day at 7 Peaks in Provo, UT...

We decided since last summer was so HOT and this summer could be HOTTER than we need season tickets to 7 Peaks...

Ora and Ellis had a blast and Dad was going down everything he could see...it was so much fun...and to just go whenever we feel like it this summer will be alot of fun...

We all were working on our tans...I can't believe Ellis I'm not so sure I know where he comes from...you put him next to a warm oven and he tans...it probably comes from Lisa and my dad and a little from Steph's side... Ora and Dad and twins...albino white and 20 sec in the sun produces 3rd degree burns...

Even with the sun beating down on us we enjoyed the day swimming in SPF 60 and playing on the slides and in the pools...

7 Peaks is definitely worth the season passes...

Camping w/ Ellis!

Well, for those who don't know there is a church tradition once per year called Father's and Son's, which is a camping trip Father's with their Son's... 1 night with Father's and Son's from your Ward group...usually you arrive around 5pm and stay till noon the next day...

So this year being a proud dad I took my son Ellis...many guys wait till their sons are old enough to actually play around or be out on their own without much sitting...so everyone was a little shocked that I took Ellis being 1 yr old...

It was a great experience...it gave Steph plenty of time to be with Ora and for them to do girl things, mostly shop...

One of our friends gave us a backpack type thing so I could carry Ellis around on my back while I was up there so I didn't have to hold him the whole time...

We went up West of Heber City into a camp ground which is very nice...we pitched our tent and got our camp site all ready...then we went around assisting everyone else that was showing up to pitch their tents...there was about 80 people there with their sons...

We went for a little hike which was fun cause Ellis kept looking around at all the birds and trees and squirrels and was being really funny about things...I guess I should take him out into Nature more often...

Our neighbors cooked dutch oven and we had a great meal...and then made fires and sat around talking most of the night...

Ellis fell asleep around 10:30pm and so we went to bed about 11pm...we got into the tent and it was freezing...so I decided to put him into my sleeping bag that way we would keep each other warm...

Well about 2:30am Ellis woke wide awake and wanted to play...he crawled out of the sleeping bag and after 2 minutes was shaking so bad from being cold but he still wanted to play...so I spent the next little while trying to keep him warm and he eventually went back to sleep around 5:30am...

Then at 6:15ish...I hear, "Jason, are you awake?" It was Jim my neighbor 1 tent over...so I answered and he told me to look outside...

Well, it had snowed and it continued to snow...by the time we got all packed up and ready to leave there was 4 inches on the ground...

Let me tell you the mud and snow made it an interesting packing job...

We ended up going to breakfast at a little cafe in Heber City and then coming home and cleaning all our stuff off...

When we got home the Sun came out and it got up into the high 60's...crazy Utah weather...

Ellis and I had tons of fun and it will only get more enjoyable as he gets older and starts experiencing more of life...

As I was surfing YouTube.com for David Archuleta videos...and I noticed David Archuleta has been around for quite sometime...so it wasn't just a fluke that he jumped on American Idol and made it to the top...

Many people think that stars just happen onto it...but you'll notice with years of practice and performing you really do become perfect in that chosen field...just choose anything you'd like to become perfect in...and study that for 30 minutes a day for 5 years and you'll become a leading world expert in that field...

Bowling w/ the Fam...

Well Memorial Day Weekend is upon us and well we didn't plan too much so we decided to go bowling with the Yates...

Isn't Steph just so hot...wow!

Luke and Ora are great friends and she loves hanging out with the older kids...not much of a younger kid fan...although the older kids do have problems with her b/c she doesn't carry conversations yet...

The loud noises put Ellis right to sleep...its funny cause alot of people don't realize that kids grew in the womb where its so loud in there and thats where most kids feel comfortable is where there is noise...

It was normal bowling for about the first 2 frames then the lights turned off the neon turned on and the fog machines started fogging up the place...it turned into night bowling and Ora started dancing like crazy and loved every minute of it...

Steph and I both broke 100 not by much...

Well we've tried teaching Ora to bowl by pushing the ball from the ground but she insists on using the little track thingy...

Ora came really close to breaking 100 her score was 97...

crazy she did really good... in a couple years she'll be breaking 200...then it won't be too much fun for mom and dad...

By the end of the night around 12 midnight the kids were ready to go and it was a great evening to wear them out and head straight to bed...

Utah Jazz Tie Series 2-2 winning on Mother's Day 123-115 over the LA Lakers

We'll for Mother's Day Steph and I ended up going to the Utah Jazz game...and boy was it a great game...

Our friend shared his season tickets with us...I've never heard anything so loud in my whole life...the Jazz fans are very passionate...

Here are some pictures...

During the 1st Quarter Ronny Turiaf was ejected because of a flagrant foul...where Price went down and was bleeding quite badly...The arena was able to jump onto the floor and protect their team...it definitely was an intense game...

The Jazz stayed up most of the game by 10-20 points...and then in the last 3 mins, like its always been, the Lakers tied it up and it went into overtime...

During overtime the Jazz were able to hold off the Lakers and tie up the series 2-2...it was way fun too because the guy in front of me kept turning around and yelling and giving me high-5's...he was pretty excited...

For all those dancer fans - Jazz Dancers:

We had so much fun...it was pretty funny too how we would cheer and Lisa would boo and visa versa... I am glad we were able to go with my parents and sister...it was a fun time...

We are definitely looking into season tickets...anyone in Utah want season tickets too we should buy them together so we can have seats next to each other...let me know...

Our Big Man!

Ellis Tucker Hill is 1 year old...

It's hard to see where the time has gone...I can't believe that Ellis is already 1...

He is currently walking around using the couch and other solid objects...our neighbor Rachel got him to walk 6 steps the other day, of course, it was when the parents weren't watching...

He loves playing with Ora and they crawl down the hallway chasing each other...Ora is the only one that can really get him laughing hysterically...I am so glad they get along and are having so much fun...I really hope that relationship lasts...

His love for food has taught us as parents moderation...at the beginning we would just keep feeding him until he was so full he would explode all down the front of himself...then we learned that we should make his food portions smaller...he hasn't been throwing up hardly anything lately...which is much different from Ora who takes 2 tiny bits of something and is "all done"...

Just this week he has started talking up a storm...we don't have a clue what he says but he is talking quite a bit and most of the time he has a toy up to his ear and using it as a cell phone...( I guess Mom and Dad are on their cell phones a little too much...this month we've talked over 3500 mins and we still have 1/2 the month left...Business is Great!)

We are very blessed to have him in our home...he has a great spirit and is smiling and positive most of the time...the only time he gets frustrated is when there is food in sight...

We love Ellis and we are excited to have another year with such a great person...

Father and Sons is coming up...but I think I'll be taking Ora again this year...I don't think Ellis would have much fun camping...Ora will though...

I can't wait to do things with my boy...that will be the best...

Spring Break in Moab, UT

A last minute decision was made and we headed down to Moab, UT for Spring Break.

Here are some pictures from our Trip...

It was quite a bit of fun...we got down there and couldn't find a hotel room...we finally found one at "The Gonzo Inn" a beautiful high class hotel...I would recommend it to anyone...

After we checked in we headed out and went to the Yates families old camping site which has recently been fenced off thanks to the great environmentalists...so we decided to hike in through the river...

It was quite a bit of fun since there was shade and water to keep us cool...there was no one around and it was really peaceful... I could easily go back and hike in to camp...

The next day we made it to church just in time for Sacrament...then we headed out to watch some of the Jeeps get down some crazy mountain trails...I've never seen anything like it...one Jeep Jim had to grab onto the back to help him down...since the trail had been blocked by another jeep who broke his axle...so a new trail was used for the time being...

We visited Hole in the Rock which is just a 5000 sq ft house in a cave...I think that would be fun...but it could get old after a while...

Then we walked around town a little more and came home on Monday...it was tons of fun...next time we'll be going down with the dirt bikes and 4-wheelers...

Well, today had to be the hardest Sunday yet... w/ Daylight Savings changing the clocks last night and church being at 9am...but I am glad we went...

Ora and I ended up going...Ellis was having some problems with his Ear so Steph stayed home with him...

In Primary they talked about David and Goliath...they drew up a mock of how big he really was...

He was bigger than the Primary room's ceiling... I honestly don't know if I would have challenged him...he was huge...

Then we came home and had cereal for lunch...its a great time Ora and I get to spend together since we both love cereal morning, noon and night...

Sorry for the poor quality its off my phone...

Hopefully, we can get use to the time change fast...waking up isn't always the easiest thing to do...

Well, its been an idea of Stephs for awhile and she finally got me to finish the project...

Fabric as wallpaper!

Its great...it went up really fast and when it dried it was easy to trim..

I think it looks better than regular wallpaper and when you want to change the look all you have to do is ripe it off and put up another type of fabric...

** Update *****

About the fabric on the wall...we just used a industry size spray bottle and liquid starch...

Put the fabric up so it overlaps the top and bottom you can trim it later...then we pinned it to the corner (ceiling & wall) and then started spraying the fabric till it was pretty much soaked...then smoothed it out with our hands and lined it up how we wanted it...

We kept putting up pieces and let it dry and I took a utility knife and cut the fabric in the corners to clean it up...

When you're ready to pull it off its easy enough to pull right off and wipe the wall down...

Perfect for renters cause you can decorate as you wish and you won't effect the walls...
